Project details
In January 2026, the Deutsches Museum Bonn adopted two animations from the exhibition “Gustav Klimt. Pigment & Pixel – Rediscovering Art Through Technology”, originally developed by checkpointmedia for the Belvedere Vienna in 2025.
The films focus on the reconstruction of Gustav Klimt’s three faculty paintings, destroyed in 1945, which were originally created for the ceiling of the ceremonial hall at the University of Vienna. In collaboration with Google Arts & Culture, the works were digitally visualized using artificial intelligence and reimagined through exhibition design.
These film contributions are now part of the exhibition “Klimt – AI – Art” at the KI:Kabinett of the Deutsches Museum Bonn, where they continue the innovative dialogue between art history and artificial intelligence.
