The aim was to produce a film that brings to life the vision behind the founding of the Erste Bank in 1819 and its history and relate their relevance to the present and the future.
This historical outline aims to make an identity statement and to raise awareness about the origins and growth of the Erste Group, with a view to emotionally anchoring the continuity and stability of the company in the minds of employees and customers alike.
Clearly presented facts and figures are combined with high-quality animated sequences using historical and present-day images to produce a film that can be shown to all target groups in every country, even if they have no previous knowledge of the company. To this end, dubbed versions of the film were produced in 10 languages (German, English, Hungarian, Croatian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Czech, Slovakian, Romanian and Russian) with optional subtitles, and DVDs were produced for each of the target groups as giveaways. The film is shown on the Erste Group’s intranet and in all other media (local websites) as well as at in-house and outside events.
Technisches Museum Wien has close connections to the history of checkpointmedia: the re-opening of the museum in Vienna in 1999 createdan opportunity for the first collaboration between the later founders of checkpointmedia, Virgil Widrich, Stefan Reiter und Stefan Unger. Together they created 100 new media stations for the sections "Nature and Knowledge", "Heavy Industry", "Musical Instruments", "Energy and Transport" and also set up the museum's media infrastructure. Their combined expertise in the areas of project management, hardware and software as well as content was the starting point for the business enterprise of checkpointmedia. The sound system in the main hall of the Technisches Museum Wien was designed for use in large-scale events. Four multi-functional line-array loudspeakers can be turned in various directions at the touch of a button and are equally practical for public addressing and for creating sound scenarios for events. A media controller provides for an intuitive operation of the system, featuring simple and swift retrieval of alignment and sound presets. A touch panel serves as interface for this controller. In 2011, checkpointmedia won the tender to create the new website of the Technisches Museum Wien.
As a regional capital, Linz is a special case. For a long time the city had to struggle with its provincial image, enduring for many years a poor reputation as a stinking industrial towny without charm, its history overshadowed even today by that hapless period when it was the "Führer's" favourite city. However, since the 1970s, the city has undergone a profound transformation. The aim of both a research project directed by Thomas Philipp (LIquA - Linz Institute for Qualitative Analyses) and the exhibition itself was to adopt a definite position towards the central questions concerning the city’s development. What makes Linz an industrial and cultural city? Which events have imprinted themselves on its collective memory? How do the people who live and work in Linz see their city? The history of Linz is examined on the basis of various perspectives - some of them very personal. This has made it possible to avoid the classic approach to presentation that is frequently encountered in a municipal museum, enabling the local audience to be addressed directly and exposing national and international visitors to the Cultural Capital Linz09 to new approaches. The exhibition was staged as a stylised residential house, in which each room accommodated a theme. As such, the spatial installations could be understood not only as design elements, but also as commentaries. Information was conveyed via texts and newspaper articles from the respective periods. Embedded in the space were video installations showing interviews with people from Linz talking about their city.

The Guggenheim Foundation and the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg intend to present the works from their collections in Europe in a new building. In 2008, Zaha Hadid won the competition for the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum in Vilnius, Lithuania. The concept for the museum is based on the ideas of fluidity, velocity and lightness. The extensive green areas surrounding the museum underline the sculptural quality of the building. In its treatment of Jonas Mekas, whose work will be shown in the museum, the multimedia concept aims to capture aspects that are placed in a fruitful, intensively charged relationship with architecture in general and the work of Zaha Hadid in particular. checkpointmedia has thus created a multimedia layer which interacts with the building, the contents, and the visitors and their movement within the space. Monitor screens in a variety of special forms are integrated into walls, ceilings, and floors and show material from the Fluxus art movement. The central part of the museum is recessed like a "canyon"; here multimedia effects respond directly to visitors' movements. "Sunspots", projections and monitors in the form of perforations in the roof and façade, run through the building as a leitmotif, representing the Fluxus principle of fusing together (private) interior and (public) exterior spaces. In the outside area, LED-generated "moonspots" take up the idea and reflect back the sunspots at night.

The goal of the project is to show the film to 50,000 employees using internal communications, and to clients by means of various platforms, in order to convey the key message: "We opened our doors 190 years ago and have not closed them since."

The "Lounge of Commerce" is the communication centre of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce in the atmospheric setting of a turn-of-the-century building. It was opened on the 100th anniversary of the building and is also intended to symbolise a new direction in the 21st century. Accordingly, technology had to be incorporated in the fabric of the historic building that would be as functional as it was appropriate. The communication centre is designed as a lounge and bar room with a cafeteria; it requires an interconnecting system of lighting and audiovisuals that can be operated from two directions. The sound system works through a total of 44 loudspeakers; two projectors and two projection walls provide great flexibility. An artistically designed image film on the achievements of the Chamber of Commerce runs on a series of monitors above the bar. Two terminals are available for exploring the range of services provided by the Chamber of Commerce in digital form.
Dark sites are pages for the internet and intranet that a company creates in readiness for potential crises but does not actually place online until an acute crisis has arisen. The principal aim of "dark sites" is to provide the company's target groups (e.g. journalists, press, family members of those involved) with comprehensive round-the-clock information relating to the crisis. checkpointmedia was commissioned to conceive, design and implement the dark sites and will also assist the airport in future in a consulting capacity should a crisis arise. Crisis drills will be held four times a year in the form of workshops.
Every day up to 10,000 people pass through a company’s entrance. It is they who spread the company’s message: customers, suppliers, service-providers, members of staff, representatives of authorities and other visitors gain an intellectual and emotional impression of the firm as soon as they set foot on its premises.
Most businesses invest large sums in image campaigns. They are also prepared to spend a lot of money on security. What most companies fail to realise is that the image they have taken such pains to establish is scrutinised by visitors in the entrance foyer and may suffer if it is not seen to be adequately reflected in the design of this area. Tailor-made films, lighting effects, the portrayal of the logo and the showcasing of products are the repertoire with which customers’ attention can be grabbed or lost and the company image reinforced in the few seconds it takes visitors to enter the premises.
Leading international brand companies such as BMW, Mercedes, Bertelsmann and Adidas already use multimedia technology. In Austria too top companies have made a lot of progress in this area, as a study of 38 firms carried out by the Vienna Institute of Higher Education has shown. Already, two out of three of the leading companies use screens, sound systems, lighting effects and/or interactive stations in the reception area. 62 per cent use information materials such as folders or videos as a means of advertising.
An analysis carried out by the Institute of Communication Management of the Vienna Institute of Higher Education, Vienna Chamber of Commerce degree programmes showed that the impression gained in the entrance areas of these top firms largely corresponds with the image of the company that is otherwise transmitted. Despite this, only two out of three companies can be distinguished from competitors on a first visit. It is significant that 59 of the 106 companies approached by students of the Institute of Higher Education refused outright to allow any analysis of their reception areas.

[...] Motorradnet is a vibrant arena, blossoming and flourishing, and it will continue to grow in all directions.” On the basis of the JART Content Management System, a platform has been developed covering all aspects of motorcycles and motorcycling for enthusiasts and others with an interest in the topic.
